The Henry Miller Memorial Library is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit community arts center. It exists thanks to grants, book sales, events, and donations.
The collapsed bridge at Pfeiffer Canyon has cut us off from our four primary sources of income: daily donations, book sales, events, and rentals. This loss of income, which has exceeded $50,000 (and climbing!) represents a serious financial blow to an operation our size. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover this kind of loss.
Please: HELP US BRIDGE THE GAP.
We hope the bridge can be re-built quickly (maybe also a temporary bridge) but no one knows yet what the verdict will be; 6 months, 12 months…more!? We do know that it is a crisis for a small non-profit like ours. We are pursuing alternatives to bridge the gap (in our case metaphorically) but it will all require funds. Please also, if you can, remind your friends about the importance of supporting The Henry Miller Library!
Your support allows us to curate concerts, workshops, community events, and fund our capital improvement work, which includes building a new water system, creating ADA-compliant bathrooms, and developing a new parking plan.
